Bye-Bye, Bobby!
At age 80, Bobby Bowden is in his 34th year as head coach at Florida State and 44rd year overall. Coach Bowden’s decision was annouced some time yesterday and we all knew that he will be exiting Florida State University’s football program. However, Coach Bobby Bowden has decided that his career will end at the Seminoles Bowl game (The Seminoles are bowl eligible at 6-6, and were awaiting word on where they will play).
I would like to remember Bobby Bowden’s career in the MOST positive manner possible as his legacy ends. Remembering him as the second winningnest coach in Division I college football totaling 388 wins! I can not really converse on Coach Bowden’s intial time of joining FSU Seminoles since, I was nearly walking and still wearing pampers, lol. However, I can recall those winning seasons in 90′s that cause me to drop everything I was doing to attend a game or flop down in front of the television. Just knowing that some of the BEST athletes (Deion Sanders, Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, Charlie Ward, etc..) have been coached by Coach Bowden and being familiar with his extensive list of accomplishments within the game is enough to say, “Job Well Done, Coach Bowden”! We all will miss you. More details on his decision can be read here.
