What is the relationship between Toys”R”Us, Inc. and Toys for Tots?

Toys”R”Us, Inc. began its relationship with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in 2004 and is the largest retail partner in the history of the charity. In 2008, Toys”R”Us, Inc. raised nearly $3 million and collected 200,000 toys to support Toys for Tots. The campaign helped Toys for Tots provide more than 16 million toys to 7.6 million children in need.

Who is Shaq-A-Claus? And what is the relationship between Toys”R”Us, Shaquille O’Neal and Toys for Tots?

Shaq-A-Claus is the holiday alter-ego of four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal, who this year serves as the national spokesperson for the Toys”R”Us, Inc. Toys for Tots campaign. Since joining the NBA 15 years ago, Shaq has given back to local communities nationwide by purchasing toys at various Toys”R”Us locations across the country and donating them to children in need during the holidays.

In 2009, Toys”R”Us and Shaq made their partnership official and joined together to support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in their efforts to bring smiles to the faces of millions of children across the country that may never receive a toy on Christmas morning. This year “R”Us stores across the country are asking guests to “Join Shaq. Give Back.”
