NFL Combine: Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow poured on the aw-shucks charm Friday at the NFL Combine, grabbing assorted recorders piled high on the podium before passing them back to reporters at the end of his 16-minute interview.
The former Florida quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner and combine rock star, Tebow undoubtedly made an impression with the gesture toward the media. Now he’s trying to make one on general managers, scouts and coaches in yet another opportunity to prove he’s got the chops to play in the NFL. Tebow took the first step in that direction by tweaking his long-criticized elongated throwing motion, which won’t be revealed for league personnel until Florida’s pro day on March 18.
“I’m not scared of what people are going to say,” Tebow said. “I’m not scared of anything else. I’m going to go out there and do it, and whatever happens, happens. That’s my mentality. If I need to work on something and change it, I’m going to work on it to the best of my ability and do it now.”
Although Tebow won’t throw at the combine, he plans to participate in all the other drills Sunday during workouts for quarterbacks.
