Ex-NBA Star Kenny Anderson Earns Degree

What a positive way to stay on your grind…………after I found out about the former NBA player going back to school and graduating I wanted to share with my kids and their friends.  After I provided the NBA career history of Kenny Anderson (none of the youngster really knew of him) I believe they appreciated and identified a lot of key factors about the up and downs anyone can face in life.

The only player in history, Kenny Anderson was named all-city all four years of high school.  After a Final Four and two years at Georgia Tech, Anderson hit the NBA as the second overall pick in the 1991 draft. And while his NBA career was nothing to write home about, he banked about $60 million.

Then, when his career came to a close in 2005, he was broke.  Anderson was without a job, money or a diploma. So he went back to school, and this Saturday he’ll be graduating with a degree in organizational leadership.  Anderson is currently giving private lessons to basketball hopefuls, but he’s hoping for something bigger.  Kenny longs for a job at coaching basketball at some level and having a degree from St. Thomas University will more than likely have MORE options at his current dream.
