On April 16, 2010 – a Friday night in Miami – more than 700 young professionals, students, entrepreneurs, artists, actors, and athletes gathered with President Clinton at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach for an exciting night of inspiration and entertainment.

This dynamic group included NFL players Ricky Jean François (San Francisco 49ers) and Gosder Cherilus (Detroit Lions), both of whom are of Haitian descent and represent the Haitian NFL players who have joined forces to assist in the on-going relief efforts in Haiti. Les Vingt Unis (Twenty as One), as the group is called, has vowed to commit its collective resources to provide immediate relief to the families displaced by the devastating January earthquake, and will take an active role in using its platform as NFL stars to make certain the long-term relief effort is sustained.
While each of these men has contributed individually, they understand that when “Twenty come together as one,” the ability to bring immediate impact to their nation is multiplied exponentially.
“We are proud to lead the charge and represent the indomitable spirit of Haiti through reconstruction and by providing hope where there is little today. Together, we believe we can represent what opportunity, teamwork, and commitment are all about,” explained Cherilus and Jean-François.
Les Vingt Unis has generously donated $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation’s efforts to help Haiti “build back better” and support all of the work the Foundation does to improve lives around the world.
Les Vingt Unis is officially launching its effort with the AirTran Airways Touchdown for Haiti, a Youth Football Camp Fundraiser and weekend Soirée to be held at Edison High School in Miami, June 12 – 13, 2010. Please email info@touchdownforhaiti.com for more information
