Jim Calhoun & UCONN Men’s Basketball Charity All-Star Game For A Great Cause
It was the fifth game in history of the bi-annual event, which began in 2002. All proceeds for the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at the UConn Health Center. Over the years, the Jim Calhoun Celebrity Classic weekend has raised over $3 million for the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at the UConn Health Center.
The game has always featured many of the former UConn greats, from Ray Allen to Caron Butler to Khalid El-Amin and on. While organizers are not permitted to announce the pool of players (another not so necessary NBA rule), a group of our favorite NBA ballers were present. The guys stayed for a autograph session following the game, which is a part of the Jim Calhoun Celebrity Classic weekend.
Ray Allen scored 20 points and was named MVP of the Jim Calhoun Charity All-Star Game at Mohegan Sun Arena, leading his white team past the blue team, 126-118.
