Reggie Wayne Celebrity Basketball Game – “Saving Our Youth”
To local celebrities, promoter and radio personality Amp Harris and Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver Reggie Wayne will host this year’s Indiana Black Expo “Saving Our Youth” celebrity basketball game.
A non-profit organization that was put into place to highlight an interdisciplinary approach to issues that are affecting the youth in the United States, Saving Our Youth’s principal objective is educate the entire community and to organize community resources to tackle the problems facing young people through prevention, intervention and diversion services.
The program is an effort to reduce violence, gangs, truancy, and juvenile incarceration. Saving Our Youth (SOY) also works to increase college enrollment, school attendance, and high school graduation rates.
SOY offers the programs Who Knows Gangs, True Gentlemen, andCommitted 2 Life to support its goals and mission.
In attendance for the game will be all your favorite athletes such as Indianapolis Colts’ Bob Sanders, Robert Mathis Marlin Jackson and Wayne will be in attendance, along with Andre Johnson of the Houston Texans and Roosevelt Colvin of the New England Patriots and celebs: Day 26, B Hamp (Do the Ricky Bobby); Hurricane Chris; Cupid (Cupid Shuffle); Kia Shine (So Krispy); Hot Stylz; Tamika Scott of Xscape; Mr. Dalvin of Jodeci; Clifton Powell “Norbit;” Pooch Hall, Wesley Jonathan “Roll Bounce;” Keith Robinson “Dream Girls;” Tyrin Turner “Menace To Society”; Antwon Tanner (One Tree Hill); Texas Battle (The Bold and the Beautiful); Chico Benymon (Half N Half); Trason, BET’s “Baldwin Hills;” Lil’ J, “That’s So Raven”; and BET’s Big Tigger.
