ONE STREET * THREE FAMILIES * SIX HOMES
The Congo Street Initiative is an effort to RESTORE and RECONSTRUCT six owner-occupied houses along Congo Street in East Dall/Fair Park neighborhood of Jubliee Park.
The AllStarGrind family is always so amazed at the wonderful acts of giving back that Emmitt Smith demonstrates, however; this project has to be the most touching. Read here more details about Emmitt and Pat Smith joining Local Volunteers to get the job done!
It’s been a while since we’ve all been blessed with good Stephon Marbury news. So when some finally surfaced you knew it would have to be good news (why not?) and him playing basketball in China definitely qualifies as good news to my ears.

Surfing the net I have found several photos of some our FAV athletes that I have no real explanation for (unsure of what’s really going on in the photos). Please leave a comment if you know what is REALLY going on in any of the photos below…… lol

I am LOVING THIS……………..

I am learning to give recognition where, when and WHO is really deserving to!! Former NBA superstar Alonzo Mourning saw the tragedy unfolding in Haiti and decided he wanted to do something about it personally. Mourning arrived in Port-Au-Prince on Friday to help with the rescue and recovery efforts. You have to respect and love Alonzo’s heart….his acts of philanthropy are always with the best intentions – “to really have a postive impact in another’s life”.

Mourning caught a flight with a medical relief group to do “anything they want me to do,” according to CBS station WFOR-TV in Miami news partner the Miami Herald. “I’ll do manual labor, or any other kind of labor. I’m here to help them,” Mourning said.

Carmelo and his son, Kiyan are looking so adorable in this photo……I am late on the announcement but, Carmelo is getting married this summer to Kiyan’s mom. CONGRATULATIONS!!
